Materials: Palladium-plated brass, stainless steel, anodized aluminum; mineral glass dome; fine hand-painting on figurines; satin, polished, brushed and sand-blasted finishes throughout the structure.
Color: Rich blue tones for the lander body, with vibrant hand-painted accents on the figures and structural details — matching the “Human to Human” theme.
Dimensions & Weight: Diameter 257 mm across its 12 faces, height 145 mm (approx.); weight approximately 3.4 kg.
Time display: Dual rotating aluminum cylinders: the upper displays minutes, the lower shows hours, with laser-engraved numerals.
Case / Sculpture framework: The futuristic “lander” body and tripod legs in aluminum evoke lunar modules; beneath the glass dome, a seesaw automaton carries animating figures of astronauts. Propulsion nozzles, anemometer, satellite dish, antenna, mission-flag and observation portholes further evoke exploration themes.
Dial / Movement visible parts: The balance and escapement reside below the dome, seemingly “piloting” the scene. Cut-outs and structure echo spacecraft windows and vents; figures rotate, rise and fall every 20 seconds, and the seesaw completes a full rotation every 10 minutes.
